Scorecard: NYC Attitude-LA Elite Put on a Show, Phoenix Fury Handles the Houston Hitmen

Thank you, week 11. There were plenty of surprises, who would’ve thought one of the bottom teams on the standings would pull off an upset the way the NYC Attitude did?

Well, for what it’s worth, head coach Ryan O’Leary knows what it takes to win-it-all, just recall last season’s MegaBrawl championship.

But it was more than that — it was phenomenal on all fronts, just when you thought the beatdown from the NYC or the LA Elite was going to end — it simply didn’t.

Friday, June 5, the NYC Attitude sniped the San Antonio Snipers to hand head coach AC Bryant’s team their first loss since April 25, when the Las Vegas Hustle won, 17-15. The Attitude put on an absolute clinic, thanks to the helpful hands of its new fighters making their TBL debuts: Justin Figueroa, Edward Millard, Tritchlet Merius and Javier Martinez. For Martinez, who fought in rounds 13 and 23 — won both rounds against Raphael Igbokwe — including a big-time knockdown in the first bout.

Saturday, June 6, the LA Elite demolished the Dallas Enforcers, 30-8. It was an absolute show that LA put on, which encountered a total of not one, not two, but three knockouts in rounds seven, 13 and 20. Raul Salomon, Jonathan Rice and Patrick Mailata did the damage to help catapult the Elite into a huge lead on the scorecard. Besides another tally on the win column, the LA Elite are the first team ever to score 30 points in a contest.

Sunday, June 7, with the Phoenix Fury and the Houston Hitmen in Atlanta, Georgia, it was Fury who came out with a 16-8 victory — not a single knockdown or knockout occurred throughout the 24 rounds of action. However, what did come out of the contest was the performance of Judah Yisrael for Phoenix. Yisrael, who entered with a 0-6 record, achieved wins number one and two against Josue Sosa Mendez in rounds five and 13. Another standout performer, Da’Marrius Watson extended a record of 2-0 to 4-0, defeating Osvaldo Lopez on the LA Elite on May 24.

Oh, boy, the fun shall continue on to week 12.

Bring it on.
