Thank you, thank you and thank you, week 10.
From the debut of Luis “King Kong” Ortiz to the epic battle between Philadelphia Smoke’s Stacia Suttles and Boston Butcher’s Sage Rosario, there are plenty of moments to dive into for this week’s scorecard.
On Friday, May 29, the Las Vegas Hustle and the Atlanta Attack fought at Utah Tech University, and while Attack was in search of its second win of the season, going into the night with a 1-3 record, Las Vegas was in control with no problem. By the time round eight arrived, the score was 7-1, including a knockdown by Ardreal Holmes Jr. Hustle ended up winning four of the last six rounds of the night, defeating Atlanta, 16-9, for win number five of the season.
Saturday, May 30, the Philadelphia Smoke and the Boston Butchers was an exciting event, given the highly-anticipated fight between Smoke’s Stacia Suttles and Butchers’ Sage Rosario. Suttles ended up defeating the 19-year-old, in both rounds. This came after Rosario called out Suttles after Boston’s win against the Nashville Smash in week nine. But despite the theatrics, Suttles and Philadelphia won, 19-12.
Here comes Luis “King Kong” Ortiz to TBL. The Nashville Smash and the Miami Assassins were the closer for the week. And Miami, who was once undefeated before facing Philly in week eight, have bolstered its heavyweight and knockout department by adding Ortiz, an experienced boxer who has gone up against the sports’ best — for example: Deontay Wilder. Ortiz made a statement right away, knocking out Stephon Moss in round 16 for a helpful four points. Miami ended up with its sixth win by a score of 18-9.
Welp, what a scorecard that was. Can week 11 top that?
